Secret to perseverance in Affiliate Marketing

By Noble E. Dennie

In these economically difficult times everyone wants to be the Mac. The true Money makers aren’t telling us all of the truth about how to make real Money. Whether in Affiliate Marketing or dominoes, it really doesn’t matter, just show me the Money. These slick gurus aren’t telling us where, or how to make a killing online, just think about it…although someone said that Affiliate Marketing is a very easy way to enjoy life on the beach.

Once you purchase their products, that doesn’t work without a great deal of trouble, you will be waiting months, headed down a road of waiting for your profits and trying to start your money earnings. “Think about that for just one second.” While they tell you a bedtime story which goes a something like this “image yourself” Yes, the truth is Affiliate Marketing is one of the easiest ways to make money on the internet but there are a few tricks to it. Being a Maverick in this industry requires effort, patience, and skill before you start to see your affiliate profits!

Don’t be discouraged by the amount of work and time is takes to build an Affiliate Marketing income. As usual, entrepreneurs take a real beating in trailblazing especially on the start up of birth pains in child bearing. Here are a few realistic facts about affiliate marketing.

These tools listed below are essentials in moving forward as an Affiliate Marketer.

YOU GOING NEED:

 Money to invest in purchasing domain – (your website address) about $10.00.
 Money to invest in purchasing a website hosting company- caution with free ones.
 Money to invest in purchasing an autoresponder, this sends out messages for you.
 Money to invest in purchasing a tracking piece of software to track advertisement.
 Money to invest in purchasing professional advertisement and other campaign material.
 It is necessary for you to invest some money if you really want to succeed and

All these items require money and in order to generate sales and earn large commission checks, you will need to drive volumes of traffic to your website and/or blog. It all depends on the kind advertising campaign you want to use but you may want to spend more money for advertising. The Mac has the best and his Maverick tactics are what money makers are searching for. I spent money on mentors to help with affiliate training. Sometimes you only need to tweak your efforts but you just don’t know what you should be tweaking so it’s better to have a coach or guide to mentor you in your money making endeavor. At least until you get the hang of it all, after a couple of affiliate site developments, you will be a money maker affiliate captain. (MAC)

Now, this next secret is where sometimes you will need a coach or mentor in order to reach the level of productivity necessary to reach your goal for success. You see, writing affiliate and post these in affiliate directories, visiting the social sites and posting the affiliate there and in forums until your website with your links and keywords reach page # 1 or the top ten affiliate on google. (THIS IS CRITICAL) This is where the hard work and patience come into play. Blogging is important because all of this is done to drive traffic to you site. Mind you, knowledge will be coming your way and you should soak it all up, as you see things change before your eyes.

A very important thing to mention is “what should be said in the affiliate”, your article must be written for your keywords which is another secret. Even before you start with your site, you should go to google analytics, which is free, or some other keyword tool and look up 30 hot keywords. These keywords pertinent to your product and must rank high in demand for your website title and all of this is after you find a product you would like to promote through, let say clickbank.

Now, don’t attempt this without faith, as you may need to join a forum like Warrior, facebook group, or a training site. There are plenty of groups out there, if you can’t find any go to http://ping.fm/DYNjP or http://ping.fm/97xWQ and post a comment someone will respond!

Question: IS Affiliate Marketing a Golden Opportunity or a Waste of Time?

by: Noble E. Dennie Sr.

The idea of doing business over the internet has been thoroughly explored and many potential entrepreneurs are searching for the best possible way to do business “period”. Old school business owners thought that brick and mortar was the only way to go but more recently, with the advent of the internet, brick and mortar is not necessarily the most profitable choice for today’s business person. Now a day, doing business comes down to whether you want to set up your own business online, an online store, or sign up for an affiliate program.

Well, First of all, let's define what is meant by an affiliate program and an Affiliate Marketer. An affiliate program is… primarily an internet business set up by someone other than the affiliate. This could be a product owner, a group, another business, a single business person, anyone but you, the affiliate marketer. This business is already setup, running and hopefully making money. If you do your homework and find through research that the business is not profitable, go to another business that is profitable. “How can a non-profiting business make you money?”

You see, the purpose of affiliate marketing is to make money from someone else’s efforts or ideas, so the product owner doesn’t spend their money on promoting the product. If the idea is not making money for the owner who designed it, chances are it will not make money for you, the affiliate marketer. The owner could be selling physical goods, educational products, informational products or any other products that can be sold online. However, the responsibility of the affiliate marketer is to make sure there is room in that business for them, the affiliate marketer, to make money.

Knowing this; if you sign up as their affiliate, you are helping the owner of the product promote their product, business or online store. In return, you, the affiliate marketer, will be paid a commission for each sale that is generated under a code number called your affiliate link, or affiliate ID. This link or code is used every time someone buys any product from you, or from your link / affiliate ID. That is what is meant by affiliate marketer.

An affiliate marketer would go to the internet lookup and find any product they want to promote, check it out through let’s say clickbank and check out the gravity and a few other key codes that will be discussed in future articles to see if the product is selling, how much commission is being paid on a given product, sometimes up to (%75) commission and how much competition is there for that commission. Very importantly, you should check out all of these and there are other ways to tell if a product is worth while promoting.

There are many ways this can be done; one of the most common ways is through a product hosting company called Clickbank. Now, Clickbank is one of the more commonly used companies to pay affiliates for bringing buyers to a product. We will discuss more on clickbank in another article. There are others for example Paydot.com, Amazon, wordtracker.com, but clickbank is the leader when it comes to affiliate’s commissions, tracking and freeing up the product owner so they don’t have to worry about paying out commissions. This is done seamlessly and tracked as well as the owner’s profits from the products. All of this is being delivered automatically and placed into those bank accounts. Clickbank or paypal accounts of the affiliate and owner, 24/7 while they sleep. This is what the promoters are showing you, their paypal accounts and clickbank account with thousands of dollars in them. “Now, I don’t know how true many of those records are or if the account being recorded have been modified to show something different than what is actually in their accounts but more on paypal and clickbank in future articles The owner hopes to have several affiliates promoting their products so he or she will receive their desired profits from their products and thus grow their business. Of course, the amount of commission may vary between different affiliate programs. There are many horror stories about affiliate programs and networks. People have heard them over and over again, that some are even wary of joining one. The stories they may have heard are those related to illegal programs or pyramid schemes. Basically, this kind of market does not have real, worthy product.
You do not want to be associated with these schemes. It is obvious you want to be with a program that offers high quality product that you will readily endorse. The growing number of those who have joined already and are succeeding immensely is proof enough that there are reliable and quality affiliate programs out there.
Why participate in an affiliate programs?
It allows you to work part-time. It gives you the opportunity to build a generous residual income. And it makes you an owner of a small business. affiliate programs have already created lots of millionaires. They are the living testimony of how hard work; continuous prospecting, motivating and training others pay off.
If ever you are deciding to join one, you must take note that you are getting into something that is patterned to what you are capable of. This will be an assurance that you are capable of doing anything to come out successful.
How do you choose a good affiliate programs to promote? Here are some tips you may want to look over before choosing one:
1. A program that you like and have interest in. One of the best ways of knowing if that is the kind of program you wish to promote is if you are interested in purchasing the product yourself. If that is the case, chances are, there are many others who are also interested in the same program and products.
2. Look for a program that is of high quality. For instance, look for one that is associated with many experts in that particular industry. This way, you are assured that of the standard of the program you will be joining into.
3. Join in the ones that offer real and viable products. How do you know this? Do some initial research. If possible, track down some of the members and customers to give you testimonial on the credibility of the program.

6. Be aware of the minimum quotas that you must fulfill or sales target that is too hard to achieve. Some affiliate programs imposes pre-requisites before you get your commissions. Just be sure that you are capable of attaining their requirements.
7. Select one that has plenty of tools and resources that can help you grow the business in the shortest possible time. Not all affiliate programs have these capacities. Make use you decide on one with lots of helpful tools you can use.
8. Check out if the program has a proven system that can allow you to check your networks and compensation. Also check if they have it available online for you to check anytime and anywhere.
9. The program that is offering strong incentives for members to renew their membership each time. The affiliate programs that provides continuous help and upgrades for its products have the tendency to retain its members. These things can assure the growth of your networks.
10. Be aware of the things that members are not happy about in a program. Like with the ones mentioned above, you can do your checking at discussion forums. If you know someone in that same program, there is no harm asking if there are many downsides involved.
Have a thorough and intensive knowledge about the affiliate program and network you will be promoting on.
Knowing the kind of program you are getting yourself into will make you anticipate and prevent any future problems you may encounter.

A Day In The Life Of An Affiliate Marketer

Being in the affiliate marketing business is not that hard now with the internet at your disposable. It is much easier now compared to the days when people have to make use of the telephones and other mediums of information just to get the latest updates on the way their program is coming along.

So with technology at hand, and assuming that the affiliate is working from home, a day in his or her life would sound something like this…

Upon waking up and after having breakfast, the computer is turned on to check out new developments in the network. As far as the marketer is concerned there might be new things to update and statistics to keep track on.

The site design has to be revised. The marketer knows that a well-designed site can increase sign ups from visitors. It can also help in the affiliate’s conversion rates.

That done, it is time to submit the affiliate program to directories that lists affiliate programs. These directories are means to attract people in joining your affiliate program. A sure way of promoting the affiliate program.

Time to track down the sales you are getting from your affiliates fairly and accurately. There are phone orders and mails to track down. See if they are new clients checking the products out. Noting down the contact information that might be a viable source in the future.

There are lots of resources to sort out. Ads, banners, button ads and sample recommendations to give out because the marketer knows that this is one way of ensuring more sales. Best to stay visible and accessible too.

The affiliate marketer remembered that there are questions to answer from the visitors. This has to be done quickly. Nothing can turn off a customer than an unanswered email.

To prove that the affiliate is working effectively and efficiently, inquiries would have to be paid more attention on. Nobody wants to be ignored and customers are not always the most patient of all people. Quick answer that should appear professional yet friendly too.

In the process of doing all the necessities, the marketer is logged on to a chat room where he or she interacts with other affiliates and those under that same program. This is where they can discuss things on how to best promote their products.

There are things to be learned and it is a continuous process. Sharing tips and advices is a good way of showing support. There may be others out there wanting to join and may be enticed by the discussion that is going on. There is no harm in assuming what opportunities ahead.

The newsletters and ezines were updated days ago, so it is time for the affiliate marketer to see if there are some new things happening in the market. This will be written about in the marketer’s publication to be distributed to the old and new customers.

These same publications are also an important tool in keeping up to date with the newly introduced products. The marketer has put up a sale and promotion that customers may want to know about. Besides, they have to keep up with the deadline of these sales written in the publications.

It is that time to show some appreciation to those who have helped the marketer in the promotions and sale increase. Nothing like mentioning the persons, their sites and the process they have done that made everything worked.

Of course, this will be published in the newsletters. Among the more important information that have been written already.

The marketer still has time to write out recommendations to those who want credible sources for the products being promoted. There is also time to post some comments on how to be a successful affiliate marketer on a site where there are lots of wannabees.

Two objectives done at the same time. The marketer gets to promote the product as well as the program they are in. Who knows, someone may be inclined to join.

Time flies. Missed lunch but is quite contented with the tasks done. Bed time….

Ok, so this may not be all done in a day. But then, this gives you an idea of how an affiliate marketer, a dedicated one that is, spends the marketing day.

Is that success looming in the distance or what?

Here are some specific examples of what your first steps MUST be when creating any new website... regardless to the subject matter.

In this example, let's create an affiliate marketing related website. We’re picking this topic at random because I do some things in the affiliate marketing market, so it makes things easier for me to explain to you. Before we start creating and collecting content for the website, we need to do a little keyword research. This is VERY important and should not be skipped. To do our keyword research we need to, first, visit a few websites.
The first of which should be http://ping.fm/EPH2u
Finding the best keywords are very important because these words are words that will be used by potential customers to find you. In fact, this is how we lead the customer to us and not to someone else. This is anticipating words the customer may type into their browser to find what they are looking for.
Goodkeywords has a very good keyword tool, and best of all it's free!

Once we've downloaded this software, we can enter the most generic keyword for our website into the software. In our example, our keyword would be "affiliate marketing".
Type in your generic keyword in the subject line of Good Keywords and it will return a list of related terms. The "words" column will show us the top 100 search keywords that contain the words "affiliate marketing".
The "count" column will show us how many times the specific keyword has been searched for in the previous month within the Overture.com search engine. Generally, you can multiply that number by 8, in order to estimate the number of times that keyword has been searched within Google for the previous month.
This step is critically important because we need to know if there is a market for whatever topic we choose to sell. This tool will quickly show us if people are looking for what we want to sell!
Please DO NOT start off by optimizing for the keyword
Why, you ask? If a keyword is searched that many times in Overture, then 100 times out of 100, the competition you will have to outrank in Google will be extremely overwhelming.
Not only is the competition overwhelming, but think about it... How targeted is the keyword "affiliate marketing" anyway? Not very targeted at all. Someone searching for the keyword "affiliate marketing" could very well be looking for free information on affiliate marketing.. They might be looking for the definition. It's really hard telling. Chances are, they're not looking for anything specific.
The keyword "affiliate marketing" is not something you should try to take on. It’s too broad!
For a brand new website, or one you're just beginning to optimize, it's better to select more specific "long tail" keyword phrases. I'll talk about this a bit later.
