Youngevity is a vitamin and supplement company that distributes its products via network marketing. They are a fairly controversial company, and there are several questions that need to be answered. Is it a scam? Is it legit? We review that here.

The company itself is based out of Chula Vista, California. It was founded by Dr. Joel Wallach in 1991. One interesting fact is that this is only network marketing company to date that has received an authorized health claim via the FDA for cancer-fighting benefits.
They have several personal care, and health and wellness products. To become a distributor, one must invest $10 as a "members fee" to get started. Their compensation plan is rather complex, and pays out through a "volume" system like many other matrix plans. Like many network marketing companies, the compensation is designed to pay out more for top distributors than the lowly grunts at the bottom of the plan.
Youngevity - The Common Mistake
The most common mistake is getting started in a business like Youngevity with no experience, no knowledge of marketing. That is the bottom-line determinant of success. Great products and great companies come and go, but the skill-set of being able to find a target-market and offer a product or service to people who are already looking for those benefits is key.
Youngevity could be a good opportunity if you possess those skills. If not, I recommend you invest your time and energy in developing them so that you can be successful in your venture.
